Distance Education

I think it is interesting but I wont go for it because I feel it is a bit difficult to handle for me I prefer to have a face-to-face lecture rather than online lecture. The advantages is that people who have busy lives or are not able to pay for having an education they can just go for distance education/learning, where the disadvantage that I find it a bit funny is not having Internet connection or if the connection is disconnected and another thing is that people might not take it seriously and might create problems such as not attending the class online, the instructor might have not pasted all the materials online, etc. As I said earlier I won't take a distance education online.

Cognitive Overload

I had one course that was too much material in it that I couldn't handle it anymore but good that I have overcome it the essential processing because the curse called "learning individual differences"; where it was more applied and making an understanding of the given material. I think if the instructor was able to give us more applied methods so we can understand t more.

Meaningful Learning

Learning is a continuous process which adds new information to the existing information. If learner is interested to relate new information with the existing one instead of just adding it, then he is attempting meaningful learning, and rote learning is a learning technique which avoids understanding of a subject and instead focuses on memorization. The major practice involved in rote learning is learning by repetition. The idea is that one will be able to quickly recall the meaning of the material the more one repeats it. yes I agree that technology plays a big role in learning. I remember 1st year college I learned how to create an effective pwerpoint presentation; where now I know everything about creating a professional powerpoint presentation.
